From child to adult, I have always been creative, imaginative and aesthetically aware. I have followed that path thru life and in choosing my profession. Fifteen years Prior to simi retirement I worked as a faux finisher; painting textures, murals and troupe l’oeil on walls, ceilings, floors and furniture. Since moving to Southport I have “retired” and now enjoy experimenting with not only paint but clay, glass, metals, textiles, wood and designing and making Bohemian style jewelry. I often use found objects and materials in creating my artwork. I love things with character that are perfectly imperfect! All thing have their own unique nature, beauty and attraction. When something catches my attention my first thought is ‘it would be wonderful to paint!’ By taking brush in hand I become more tuned into my subjects and the relationship that develops is unfeigned.
I was born and raised in Southern California and have resided in Seattle and Tucson. My husband and I traveled the country in our tour bus for three years in search of the perfect place to live. Southport was our choice - our forever home. I draw my inspiration from our time on the road and from the ever-changing beauty that surrounds me right here in Southport. Animals are my heart and commissioned pet portraits are a large part of my work. Please take my business card and contact me directly if you are interested.
