Artist Bio
As a young person I loved to draw Viking ships, airplanes and cars. Fifty years later, when I retired to Sedona, I signed up for my first art classes, figure drawing and painting. The first model I painted got five offers to play line-backer with the NFL. Just kidding! My figure drawing instructor taught me to measure, measure, measure! Upon completion of my first painting, the instructor said, “Nice work, but you need to learn to put more paint on your brush”. Eventually I showed my first work at the Sedona Arts Center. After leaving Sedona and relocating to Sarasota, FL, I was fortunate to take advantage of art classes at Sarasota Art Center, Ringling College and Sarasota Community College. Since moving to Southport 5 years ago, I have continued my work in figure drawing and painting at the St. James Community Center, Franklin Square and Brunswick County Community College. I have been able to show my work at Sedona Art Center, Sarasota Art Center, St. James Community Center, Brunswick County Community College and Franklin Square student shows. I appreciate the support and encouragement of all the Artisans of St. James. Artist Statement I continue to enjoy figure drawing and learning the finer points of painting. Most of my works are from places where we have lived or from our travels. I enjoy creating memories from photos for friends and families. To contact, please call 910-553-4170. |
