Barbara G. White
Painter

Artist Bio
I am a relative newcomer to painting, only taking up this “hobby” seven years ago. I had tried some painting during my early teens, taking lessons in tandem with my mother, but my working years were all that… all work and no time for art. When I retired to North Carolina in 2015, I took an acrylic painting workshop sponsored by Stepping Up for Arts, and as they say the rest is history.

I joined the St. James Artisans to handle publicity, and the next thing I know I was becoming a contributing member. I was hooked and after using only my right brain for over 30 years, I was excited to expand any creativity I had been storing up.

I’ve learned through workshops, classes and private lessons at Brunswick Community College, Cameron Museum School, Leland Cultural Center for the Arts, and with Joseph Bardani. I love painting both landscapes and still life, and work in both realistic and abstract style with a focus on impressionist landscapes and seascapes.

Besides being a member of the ARTISANS ON HOWE, I am a member of the  Bardani Studio in Southport, painting and learning from the other fine artists there.
