Yesterday at Noon the drawings took place for 11 art-filled SUFA Raffle Baskets at The Artisans Gallery on Howe! Stepping Up for Arts (SUFA) is the Artisans' charitable organization that supports the Arts in Brunswick County through scholarships and grants. Your generous support of this fundraiser through your donations for opportunities to win a basket is so appreciated!!! THANK YOU!

The Artisans would like to thank NC Cares for the Arts, the North Carolina Arts Council and the Brunswick Arts Council for awarding The Artisans Gallery and Stepping Up for Arts (SUFA) a Covid Grant. The purpose was to help arts organization mitigate their business disruptions due to Covid-19. The Artisans Gallery received $8,603.85. Stepping Up For Arts received $5,054.25. This money will help us provide grants to teachers in the Brunswick County Schools this fall. Our State Legislators voted to award NC Care for the Arts the overall money which was distributed by county population. Mary Beth Livers, Executive Director of the Brunswick Arts Council was a great help to us. If you know her please thank her. SUFA Raffle Basket winning opportunities continue at The Artisans Gallery on Howe located at 114 S. Howe Street in Downtown Southport! There will be at least 10 Raffle Baskets - all filled with original artwork created by Artisans and Local Artists! Donations for tickets are $1 each, 6 for $5, or 12 for $10. The Raffle winners will be drawn on December 12. Thank you ALL for your support of SUFA as we continue to award Teacher Grants and Student Scholarships in Brunswick County Public Schools!
Our new SUFA totes are in. They are outstanding Thank you Pren Halliday for your beautiful artwork. Thank you Cheryl Rogers for ordering the totes and Thank you Karen Hiteshew for tagging them all.
The funds raised from selling these totes will benefit the fine art students of Brunswick County. Congratulations to Pren Halladay. Pren's picture of Southport has been selected for the SUFA 2020 Tote Bag. As soon as these bags come in they will be in The Artisans Gallery on Howe for sale. There were 41 entries. There were so many wonderful pictures that our 5 judges had to vote twice before a winner could be selected. Thank you all for sharing your art. All the Brunswick County Public School Children thank you.

The Artisans will be featured there for the month of January! Artisans Celebrate St James 20th Anniversary with "Art On The Veranda" at the Reserve Club!7/14/2019
On July 1, the Town of St James held a 20th anniversary celebration at the Reserve Club, that included live music, a picnic and fireworks. During the celebration Artisans were on hand for face painting for the kids in attendance, and we exhibited our artwork on the Reserve Club Veranda.
